Stuttgart Fan Starts a €900 million fundraiser to help them sign Lionel Messi

The future of Lionel Messi dominates football and one Stuttgart fan took matters into his own hands to try to help his club sign the Barcelona star.
Tim Artmann has set up a €900million (£805 m) fundraising page to try to stump the cash for the Bundesliga side to acquire the Argentina international.
And only €262 (£234) has been donated to the cause five days since its creation, but Artmann has revealed that if the target is not met or Messi departs to another club, the donated amount will be donated to a charity for water.
The description on the GoFundMe page reads: ‘We VfB fans are raising money to pay for the transfer of Lionel Messi.
‘If the planned amount is not reached on time or Lionel Messi joins another club, Viva con Agua will be given 100 percent of the money raised.’
One Twitter user, after seeing the fundraising effort, wrote: ‘This is the best thing I’ve seen all day,’ while another added: ‘This legendary one now.’
Manchester City emerged as the favorites after the star told Barcelona he wanted to leave to seal Messi’s signature via fax.
In response to the fundraiser’s current status, one fan quipped: ‘Fax machine pays.’
La Liga ruled that the astronomical release clause of Messi’s £ 630million (€700 m) is still active, as the player did not issue his desire to trigger an option to leave before June 10.
